How to: Add A YouTube Video

Adding videos to your content is a great way to boost engagement with your workplace!


While there are a number of streaming platforms available, YouTube is used by the majority of our user base. You can upload your videos to YouTube for free hosting, and make your youTube channel private if you wish.

You can add YouTube videos to your content by following these simple steps.

  1. Create a new Post or Page: YouTube videos can only be added to Pages or Posts, not Notices. To begin, create a new Post or Page using the + New Content button or from the Content or Page Center in the Admin View. Add a Title and Description and click Next to go to the Editor.
  2. Add YouTube Content Block: Start with adding the YouTube block to your canvas, by dragging and dropping YouTube from the block outline.       CleanShot_2020-12-04_at_15.31.38.png
  3. Choose Layout: Next click on the YouTube block within your canvas to open up further settings. You will have the ability to define the height and layout of your video. 
  4. Select a Source: After you've set the layout for your video, we can obtain the source of our YouTube video via Video ID. 
    • This can be found by clicking on the share button of any public YouTube video.  The Video ID is the characters after the backslash as highlighted within the screen-shot below. 

  5. Video: Enter the YouTube Video ID for your selected video. You will know you have the right link when the thumbnail populates on your post. 
  6. Save and continue: Add any additional content, save and publish, and you are good to go!
