What is a Team Title and Description?
As a member of one or more teams in a channel, you have the ability to include information about your role that other Lane users can view in your Profile.
For example:
- You may be a member of a property management team responsible for the management of specific areas.
- You may be a member of a health & safety, social, or a fitness team where potential new members may approach you with questions.
By adding a title and description about your role, other workplace members can identify you and your areas of expertise in the Lane workplace.
On a mobile device
- Profile: Click on the Profile tab within the lower right corner of the app.
- Channel Settings: Select Channel Settings at the bottom, where you will see a list of all the channels to which you are subscribed.
- Edit: Click on the Edit button next to your team membership. You may be a member of more than one team in a channel.
- Input: Enter a title and description that is applicable to that team.
- Apply: When you are ready, click on Save.
On a desktop browser
- Channel Settings: On the top right of the Member's View, click on channel settings button represented by the gears icon.
- Edit: Click on the Edit button next to the team you want to edit. You may be a member of more than one team in a channel, and belong to more than one channel.
- Input: Enter a title and description that is applicable to that team.
- Apply: When you are ready, click on Save Changes.
What is Public Membership?
The Public membership checkbox makes your team membership, title, and description of your role visible in your Profile.
For example:
- If you are a member of a property management team, your Public membership makes it easier for workplace members to know which building(s) and areas you are responsible for.
- If you are a member of a social or fitness related team, your Public membership makes it easier for workplace members with similar interests to know who they can approach with questions.
